Parent-Child Dedication Service
What Is Happening?
"Parent-child dedications at Hickman Community Church are part of our desire to make much of the family unit instituted by God. Parent-child dedications are a public commitment and expression of the faith of the parents, to bring up a child in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). It is a public pledge by the parents, to do all they can by God's grace and wisdom, to raise the child to respect and honor God who created and gifted them to the family unit (Ps.127:3). It is a public pledge and to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ who gave His life a ransom for many.
While American society is constantly eroding the values and structure of the family unit as ordained by God, Hickman Community Church builds up and celebrates the family by charging parents with their God given responsibility to raise up a godly generation to hold forth the word of life."
